When we pulled up to this job the first thing you notice is the silver maple. Large, mature, and positioned in a tight spot with power lines overhead and the house right underneath. This is exactly the kind of tree that makes some companies nervous and others reach for a big number on the estimate.
For us it was a straightforward assessment. We’ve done enough of these to know what the job requires and what it doesn’t.
Keeping Equipment Where It Belongs
One thing we’re deliberate about on every job is where our equipment goes. The chipper stayed in the road. That’s how we prefer to operate — it’s a large machine and putting it in a yard is something we only do when there’s absolutely no other option. The goal is always to leave your property in the same condition we found it, or better.
The ASV skidsteer with rubber tracks handled moving the large material. Rubber tracks matter on a job like this — they’re significantly easier on turf than steel tracks or tires, which means we’re not tearing up the yard while we work.
Finding the Right Solution for the Customer
Every customer’s situation is a little different. On this job the homeowner wanted to keep costs down and had a friend who could use the firewood. Simple enough — instead of chipping everything we used the skidsteer to move the large sections to the backyard where they’d be easy to access but out of the front yard.
It’s a small thing but it made a real difference for this customer. Finding that kind of solution is just how we like to operate. We’re not running a one size fits all operation — we’re listening to what you actually need and figuring out the best way to get there.
The Result
Tree down, yard clean, wood stacked in the back. Done in one day.
If you have a large tree, a tight space, or a situation that’s making you nervous about who to call — we’re happy to come take a look. No pressure, just an honest assessment of what the job actually requires.
